In spite of having once been the single most feared hitokiri in the Bakumatsu, Kenshin is now nearly 30 years old and possessed of a steely determination not to kill. Only his quick wits and his sword's sheath have kept him from being ripped open by Aoshi Shinomori, Commander of the Oniwaban group, who does not share the same scruples.

Still, the wound that makes him wince in pain does not stop Kenshin from running to face down Kanryu Tankeda, a complete slime bucket who's taking on the Oniwaban with a Gattling gun.
