Li Shaoran comes from Hong Kong to join Sakura's class and to track down Clow Cards. It seems that he is a distant relative of Clow Reed, the creator of the cards. Over the three seasons of the series he goes from being an intensely irritating rival (called "the brat" by Kero-chan) to a good friend to Sakura and her chums.
