Kenshin is watching a pitched battle between men with guns and men with swords, and he is both frantic with grief and anger and determined to stop the carnage somehow. He begins yelling for them to stop, at first almost begging. He then plants his feet, raises his clenched fists and bellows "Yamero!" (Stop!) as long and loud as he can.
