After Hamel and Flute set off in search of Hamel's correct path, they happen upon another childhood friend, Raiel. Raiel actually seems to know more about Hamel than Hamel can remember, but nevertheless seems to have great trust in Hamel. Here, they are facing the demon armies who insist that Hamel is the heir to the demon throne. With a horn sitting prominently on his head like that, it's no wonder.
