Samurai Champloo - Scenery (14)
This absolutely beautiful place makes me homesick. No, I didn't grow up in Japan, but in Maine. This painting reminds me of so many places along the rocky coast where the water suddenly is visible even while you're hiking through stony forest. I can smell the salt air, the cool damp evergreen needles under our traveller's feet, and can hear the birds rustling and peeping in the trees' upper branches.
