In the first post-Kyoto-arc episode, Kaoru tasks Kenshin with going out to catch their dinner. Three months in Kyoto have drained their household coffers dry, and they still need to feed themselves. The only problem is that our brilliant military mind and master of swords can't figure out HOW to fish! Fortunately he's "rescued" by an old fisherman who knows Dr. Gensai's girls.

While I'm not a huge fan of the last 33 filler episodes of Ruroni Kenshin this one is lovely. The old man tells Kenshin a tale, the gist of which is that there is always one woman in a man's life whom he can never forget. It would have been a wonderful bridge to the final manga arc, had that ever been incorporated into the TV series.
