Here's a moment of pure silliness. While the gang bemoans imminent starvation on their ship, Zelgadis has of course been searching for signs of land. He spies a bird in the distance and offers his elbow as a perch. And this expression of expectation becomes one of resignation as the magnificent seabird turns out to be a scrawny-looking ducklike creature with a goofy face.
