Partings are never easy, but some are intensely painful. Such is the case in this scene. Kenshin sits in his home in Otsu, the only place he has been truly happy in his short life, coming face to face with the true magnitude of the horror and anguish he has caused so many people in his life as the Choshu's hired assassin.
