Misao is a little fireball who Kenshin enounters - and then can't get rid of - on his way to Kyoto. It turns out that she knows and has a real thing for Aoshi, who is currently laboring under a burning desire to "get Kenshin" (nothing new here) to prove he and his late comrades are the strongest.

She hasn't reacted to Kenshin's outrunning her, or to the fact that he just leaped a fairly substantial gorge to try to lose her. But when she tosses her "Tobikunai" attack at him and he deflects all of the kunai with the wind from a quick draw of his sword, she finally realizes he's really not a shabby, broke ronin after all. (Or at least, not ONLY that...)
